Sacramento, CA -- Today, U.S. Representative Doris Matsui announced she will stand for re-election to represent the people in California’s 6th Congressional District.
“Over the years, I have been honored with your overwhelming support and it has been my privilege to serve the people in the Sacramento region,” said Rep. Matsui. “But as we build on what we’ve accomplished, I realize that our work is not yet done.”
Matsui added: “I want to continue to fight for you as we increase flood protection; improve our water resources and transportation infrastructure and expand arts and education programs for families and young people. Whether it is promoting equality in the workforce; providing clean energy and protecting and expanding access to healthcare; we must continue this fight to bring the people in the Sacramento region closer together. I want to continue to be your voice as we boost our economy and work hard to connect with each other as a community.”
“For these reasons,” Matsui said, “with your continued support, I will stand for re-election in 2016.”
Doris Matsui was first elected to Congress in 2005. She is seeking her 6th term in Congress.
